Platform
Strong Public Safety
As mayor, I will always fight for top-quality public safety services for our city. To me, this means effective and efficient Police and Fire/EMS.
Low Taxes
I promise to keep the budget under control, eliminate unnecessary spending, oppose new taxes (e.g. wheel tax) and reduce debt.
Responsible Development
I will support sensible development to increase the tax base and provide services and goods our citizens demand—while also preserving what makes Oconomowoc great.
Transparent and Responsive Government
As mayor, I want to increase the City’s communication with its residents, invite participation and thoughtfully make decisions after robust public input.
City Initiatives
Lake Country Initiative
Once elected, I plan to reach out to our neighboring communities (Village of Summit, Village of Lac LaBelle, Village of Dousman, Town of Ottawa, Village of Merton and the Village of Oconomowoc Lake) and create a working group to explore sharing services.
The Lake Country Initiative will seek to bring our neighbors together in the spirit of cooperation and work towards efficiency of government services across our borders. Most of these communities are already part of a successful combined services organization, Western Lakes Fire Department (WLFD). Since 2017, WLFD has saved its member communities more than $8,000,000 through this concept.
The goal will be for us to identify areas where communities can share services or purchase goods together that will save money. For instance, all these communities have departments or contracts for snow removal. Working together we could save money by plowing contiguous area (instead of stopping at borders), purchasing salt together, help each other with plow truck staffing and maintenance and reduce administrative burdens where possible.
This is a straightforward approach to save taxpayer money as costs increase. This initiative could be applied to a variety of city services. My plan would be to work on this at the beginning of my term in April of 2026.
